This AddIn will let you open a menu when a document is displayed and keep it open.
This is very useful if you want to keep the menu of a particular section in your web site open so your visitors can easily navigate that section.

As seen in the above sample the menu for the "Utilities" section is permanently displayed and remains open so its easier to access its options.

To use this AddIn simply download it and then double click on the downloaded file to install it.
Open your project in DHTML Menu Builder, click File->Project Properties->Advanced and select the AddIn from the list of AddIns.

Here's the code that needs to be manually included into the HTML document where you want to open a menu:

It is recommended that this code be placed right before the closing </body> tag.

The value "1002" is the only thing that you will need to change in order to control which menu to open.
Its very easy, the first menu item is 1001, the second is 1002 and so on.
So, if we would have wanted to open the menu for the "ActiveX Controls" section we would have used 1003 as shown below:

Note that you can even extend the power of this AddIn by using the "Item Highlight Wizard" to highlight the menu items that show the currently selected section in your web site. (See a working sample here).

Since version 1.0g you can also force a hotspot-based menu to remain open. Hotspot-based menus are those menus that are displayed from an element in your page, such as an image. If you're working with tolbars then you can skip this section.
To work with hotspot-based groups you will have to give your <a> tags an id using the "id" paramater and then use this id as the tbItemName.
For example, let's support that the <a> tag for a hotspot that displays a menu looks like this:

The first thing to do is to is to give the <a> an id. Remember to use a unique id, for example:

Finally, add the code to force the menu to remain open as explained above:

• This AddIn has been designed for DHTML Menu Builder 4.7 (and above)
  Using it with an older version will cause problems.
• This AddIn will only work under DOM-compliant browsers. This means that there's no support for Navigator 4.
  As of the release of this document, these are the only browsers guaranteed to work:
  • Internet Explorer 5 (or above)
  • Opera 7
  • Any Mozilla-based browser including Mozilla 1.4, Navigator 7 and Firebird 0.6
  • Safari 1.0

• The use of this or any other AddIn is not supported by xFX JumpStart.
